100% AMERICAN

FROM THE DENIM TO THE THREAD, THE RIVETS & WHERE WE MAKE THEM

Proximity Denim is among the rarest and most sought-after selvedge denim in the world. It's woven at the legendary White Oak Mill in Greensboro, NC. At its peak, White Oak was the largest denim mill in the world, supplying legendary brands like Levi’s and Wrangler. After Cone Mills shut down the White Oak Mill and auctioned off all its equipment, a group of locals and denim industry veterans formed a nonprofit to save the historic building from demolition. They recovered two broken Draper X-3 selvedge looms and spent 6 months refurbishing them before opening for business. Currently, they employ two weavers, one a master weaver with over 30 years of experience. Proximity only weaves small, custom orders on a part time basis on those two looms.

A COMMITMENT TO MAKING JEANS IN AMERICA

Most brands in the premium to luxury denim space are using denim woven in Japan and source
their finishings (buttons, rivets, zippers etc.) internationally. They then assemble all those
imported parts in the USA and call it “Made in USA,” sometimes exploiting labor technicalities
within international trade agreements that blur the lines on provenance. Seven Titans denim is
100% made in the USA—every stitch, rivet, and package component is sourced and crafted
domestically. No shortcuts, no compromises.

Our jeans only use the finest materials America has to offer. Our warp yarns are indigo dyed at
Mount Vernon Mills, and our weft yarns are custom dyed at a specialty dye facility in North
Carolina. Our rivets and buttons come from the same hardware manufacturer used by Levi’s
Vintage Clothing, known for their exacting vintage reproduction standards. We hand-cut and
pressed our patches from Hermann Oak Natural Veg Tan Leather, with over 140 years of
tanning history, notably providing the leather for every US Army holster during WWI. Our
pockets could make a fine pair of jeans on their own, using 12oz ecru selvedge bull denim
grown and woven in the USA, each with their own surprise.

INVESTING IN YOUR DENIM - BUY IT FOR LIFE

Our denim is a 100% cotton 12.5oz loomstate broken twill with rope dyed, ring spun cotton.
12.5oz is the same weight as the denim used on vintage 501s. Loomstate denim has no further
processing once it comes off the loom, almost unheard of in today's market. As a result, our
denim requires significantly fewer chemicals and less energy than conventional alternatives. It
also means the denim will shrink a lot (don't worry, we've accounted for this in our sizing).

Order true to size, then soak them in a hot bath for 30 minutes before air drying. The denim will
shrink to fit your body, molding to your shape for a custom-tailored feel. The broken twill
means the weave changes direction every two picks, making a tight herringbone pattern
instead of a directional weave found in most denim. This means it hangs straighter on your
body and is less prone to warping around your legs in the direction of the twill. Ring spun
cotton is considerably more difficult and expensive to spin than open ended cotton. It requires
longer staple length cotton, which is softer, more durable, and more expensive than cotton
used in Open Ended yarns. This high-quality cotton is twisted as it's being pulled into yarn,
giving even more strength. 100% cotton means there is no stretch, but stretch yarns lose their

elastic qualities quickly and will prematurely shorten the lifespan of your jeans. With proper
care, Seven Titans could endure a lifetime of wear and be the last pair of jeans you ever buy.
